Feeling stuck in life or work? Discover why it's a powerful turning point and how to shift from drifting to direction.

Have you ever felt like you're floating — not forward, not backward, just... there? You're showing up, doing the things, ticking the boxes. But something feels off. There's no fire. No flow. Just a quiet, restless fog.
Welcome to the drift.
Feeling stuck is one of the most common (and most misjudged) emotional states we encounter in life. It can feel frustrating, disorienting, even shameful. We think, "Why can't I just get it together?" But here's the truth:
Feeling stuck isn't failure. It's a signal.
Just like the tide pulling back before it surges forward, this stuckness can be the beginning of something new. A space between who you were and who you're becoming.
Why We Get Stuck
There are many reasons we find ourselves drifting:
Burnout: You're exhausted but feel pressure to keep pushing.
Misalignment: What you're doing no longer matches who you are becoming.
Fear of Change: The next step feels unknown or risky.
Old Narratives: You’re still carrying stories that no longer serve you ("I'm not ready," "I always mess it up").
Whatever the reason, stuckness is usually a protective mechanism — a pause that asks you to reflect, reset, and realign.
What Stuck is Actually Telling You
When clients come to me feeling stuck, I don’t try to "fix" them. I listen. I ask, "What is your stuckness trying to say?"
Because often, it's saying:
You’re ready for something more.
You’ve outgrown the version of life you’re living.
You need to reconnect with your purpose, your values, your direction.
It’s a whisper, not a wall.
Moving From Drift to Direction
If you’re ready to turn the tide, here are three simple but powerful steps:
1. Pause with Curiosity: Instead of forcing your way out, get still. Ask yourself: What feels out of alignment? What would feel more true? This is where clarity begins.
2. Reconnect With Your Why: Purpose doesn’t always arrive with lightning bolts. Sometimes it arrives quietly when you ask: What do I care about now? What do I want to create, contribute, or change?
3. Choose One Brave Step: You don’t need the full map. Just one honest, aligned step forward — a conversation, a boundary, a decision. Momentum builds from movement.
You’re Not Broken — You’re Becoming
If you’re in the in-between, you're not alone. You’re not lost. You’re simply in the space where growth is happening beneath the surface. Like the ocean before a wave, or the sea turtle before her long return — this is the part where you gather strength.
You don’t have to figure it all out today. But you do get to start.
Keep rising, keep evolving, keep shining.
